Hello there! I'm a visual designer originally from Florida and am now living in San Francisco, CA. I've always been drawn to art in various forms like music, arts & crafts, graphic design, photography, experimental & performance art, and web design. As a designer and artist at heart, being able to work and experiment on different media is amazing and really allows me to have a choice of creative outlet. I always believe that simple is more, but also to think WAY out of the box. I love taking something disastrous and turning it into AMAZINGNESS! Currently, I am working on my Master of Fine Arts in New Media & Web Design at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, CA. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Electronic, Media, Art & Technology with a concentration in Art from The University of Tampa in Tampa, FL in December of 2011. At the moment, I am working as a visual designer. I hope to continue in the design field and become an art director, as well as an educator in the future.

THESIS ABSTRACT
"Mommy, where did I come from?" Children are curious at all ages and this creates a natural opportunity to begin the discussion about sexuality at an early age, but most parents do not because it can be awkward and scary to think about your children learning about sex. By learning early on about sex education, parents can help a child create a healthy and confident attitude towards his/her body. The main obstacle for Wee Monsters is that it is on sex education, which is still a taboo topic for a lot of people and cultures, especially being it being taught at a young age. According to Dr. Laura Berman, a sex therapist, the main goal of any sex talk is to communicate that sex is a very normal and natural thing. "You want to start these conversations early with your kids—before they find themselves in the circumstances where they're having to make those healthy sexual decisions." A trusting and open relationship with your children can be formed in the long run. Wee Monsters is an interactive iPad app that will create a comfortable and fun way for parents to discuss sexuality with their children. The app will allow children from the ages of 4-8 to follow along and interact with monsters and other creatures on a journey to discovering and learning about sex education through stories, interactive diagrams, and games, all the while allowing parents to follow along to discuss and answer any questions with the help of the app without any discomfort feeling or cluelessness.
STATEMENT OF INTEREST
Growing up as a first generation in an Asian family, we never spoke about sex or anything related to it. It was such a taboo. If I ever had a question, my mother always answered with "you'll find out when you're an adult." Because our mother never had the birds and bees talk with us or anything about sexuality, my sister unfortunately got pregnant at the age of 13. This is my main reason for wanting to develop this app. I want to close that gap between a child and a parent and allow there to open discussion about sex in a fun and illustrative way that doesn't create any tension or awkwardness. My sister was too young to have participated in a sex education class and so she had to knowledge about where the baby came from. By developing this app, I feel that I can create that opportunity for a parent and child to discuss normally about sex.
